Karen has 20+ years of experience in advertising and promotion, with over 20 years dedicated specifically to pharmaceutical creative development and marketing operations. Most recently, as Executive Director of Promotion Management at a major Pharma, Karen led a large multidisciplinary team responsible for high-level planning, development, creative execution, copy review and approval, 2253 filing, print, production and distribution of promotional materials for over 40 brands. Her team flawlessly executed over 7,000 projects each year against a promotional spend of over $500M. Earlier in her career, Karen received the CEO Breakthrough Idea award in recognition for developing and implementing the industry’s first comprehensive digital review and approval system with over 1000 internal and external users. She was instrumental in influencing the FDA (DDMAC at the time) to accept electronic 2253 submissions. Karen led several operational excellence initiatives delivering over $30M in cost savings, year-on-year. In addition, Karen implemented the concept of integrating external and internal talent to form an in-house full-service creative agency. Through Karen’s leadership, this initiative delivered high-quality promotional materials at a lower cost and reduced cycle time for marketing stakeholders.
